Call The White House Today!


The Lake County Farm Bureau wants members to call the White House before 4 p.m. on Thursday July 17, to urge President Barack Obama to "ditch the rule" defining "waters of the U.S.""If the drains and ditches that cross between, among and within farm fields and pastures are regulated as ‘navigable waters,' the implications for farmers and ranchers will be disastrous," according to the Lake County Farm BureauCalls to the White House, 202-456-1111, should be made between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. CST Tuesday through Thursday.Here is a suggested script of what to say:

20 Lake County area teachers participated in the Lake County Farm Bureau’s annual Summer Agricultural Institute (SAI) Field Trip. The Agriculture in the Classroom program continues to promote the teaching of agriculture in Lake County classrooms even in the summer months. This Lake County Farm Bureau sponsored event is designed to aid area teachers in incorporating agriculture into their teaching curriculum by providing them with first-hand experience along with lesson plan ideas to bring back to their classrooms.

Who: For Lake County, IL Residents Only (No Businesses)

What: A Recycling event where Lake County Residents are able to dispose of passenger car, as well as truck and tractor tires.  -NO RIMS ALLOWED
