Lake County Farm Bureau
2017 Educator Agventure
July 10-13, 2017

General Information and Application

The Educator Ag-venture is sponsored annually by the Lake County Farm Bureau, as well as many other agricultural organizations and businesses.  This trip is designed to immerse teachers into agriculture and help them better understand where our food and fiber are created.
Agriculture is important to everyone since so many things we all enjoy on a daily basis are derived from what our farmers and ranchers produce.  For the most part the population of Lake County is removed from agricultural production, and therefore may not have an understanding of what takes place on farms in our area.  By providing Lake County’s teachers with first-hand experiences at local agribusinesses we hope that an accurate portrayal of agriculture can then be passed on to students in our area!

The group will tour eleven agricultural stops in Lake, Cook, and McHenry counties. Teachers also have the opportunity to learn about resources and share ideas with other educators from the counties.

The trip offers CPDU’s, as well as the option for graduate credit through Brandman University.    This unique opportunity is limited in numbers and fills up quickly.  Please remember to register by June 9, 2017.
