  1. Recycling Collection
    The Lake County Farm Bureau would like to announce an electronic recycling event for our members. The collection will take place Saturday, August 5, from 9:00am to 12:00pm at Lake County Farm Bureau office, located at 70 US Hwy 45 in Grayslake. LCFB members are welcome to bring in unwanted computers, office equipment, small home appliances, and home entertainment devices. A $25 fee will apply for televisions and monitors screens less than 21 inches and $35 for screens 21 inches and over. Large appliance and hazardous and chemical waste will not be accepted. All items should be delivered unboxed and free of excess packaging materials. This event is sponsored by eWorks ESI and proceeds help benefit the developmentally disabled. eWorks is a zero-landfill organization and responsibly recycles items in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.   2. Backyard Chickens
    The Lake County Farm Bureau is pleased to offer an informational class that will deal with the keeping of and caring for backyard chickens. Kerri Gburek, a local “eggspert”, will introduce attendees to the basics of keeping chickens. Topics will include; chicken selection, housing and coop options, space requirements, nutrition and feed, medical needs, predator protection, and much more!   3. Luncheon Cruise
    On Thursday, August 24 the Farm Bureau would like to invite you to join us for a luncheon cruise on the SPIRIT OF CHICAGO located at Navy Pier on Lake Michigan. The Spirit of Chicago is casual yet contemporary. The view will be amazing – so eat, sit back and relax, enjoy the incredible Chicago skyline or listen to high energy music and even dance, if you like. The boarding will begin at 12:00 p.m. and the cruise runs from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. After lunch you will have a few hours to enjoy Navy Pier, or visit Millennium Park (about 1 ½ miles). There is a trolley that stops just outside of Navy Pier that goes to Millennium Park. For more information and tickets click on the download button below.

  4. Farm Stroll
    The Farm Stroll is Lake County's first self-guided tour of its diversified family farms. Spend the day visiting any or all of the 11 farms participating in the stroll. This is a free event; however, bring some cash for food and activities at the farms.

  5. Cubs Game
    The Lake County Farm Bureau is sponsoring a trip to Miller Brewery in Milwaukee, WI and a night at Miller Park to watch the World Series Champion Chicago Cubs battle the Milwaukee Brewers. For more information and tickets click the download button below.
