Take the Lake County Sustainable Food System Survey!

Sustainable food systems balance economic prosperity, environmental preservation, and public health while moving agricultural products from farmer to consumer.  As agricultural and consumer trends and desires change, food systems must adapt as well. Adapting this system in Lake County can help to foster support and capacity for small-scale, local, and/or organic agriculture that boosts the county's overall production and drives economic development in the agricultural sector.

Wagner Farm hosts Monster Machines!

The second annual Monster Machines event is coming. On Sunday, August 28th from    2-5 p.m. the historic Wagner Farm is host to a monstrous event featuring some of the largest farm and construction equipment in our area, which children can climb on and explore. Entrance fee is $5.00 a person and all proceeds benefit the Lake County Livestock Fund.

Lake County Farm Bureau to host Blood Drive

The Lake County Farm Bureau will be hosting a blood drive in conjunction with LifeSource Blood Services on Monday, September 26 from 1:00pm - 7:00pm inside the Farm Bureau auditorium located at 70 US HWY 45 Grayslake, IL 60030.

LifeSource is a lifeline between those who need blood and those willing to donate. Participating in a blood drive is quick and easy taking only 45 minutes but every drop goes a long way to brightening others' lives.

The Lake County Farm Bureau is joining the social media community! The Lake County Farm Bureau started a Facebook page last year in order to connect with individuals interested in agriculture. The LCFB wants to become even more involved and now belongs to both Twitter and MySpace.

These popular social networking sites let you interact with the community on the fly. It makes it easy to keep followers up-to-date as well as remind users of your current status and activities.
